Does city water need to be filtered?
Not every home needs the same treatment. We test city water and review your concerns before recommending a system. Some homeowners want better taste and odor; others have a specific result to address. Your utility water-quality report can provide additional context, but it does not replace testing the water in your home.
What does a carbon filter remove from city water?
Carbon filtration is commonly used to reduce chlorine taste and odor. Chloramine, trihalomethane, and other VOC reductions depend on the selected carbon media, system design, and rated performance. We use your water-test results and concerns to select appropriate equipment.
Will a city water filter also soften my water?
No. Carbon filters do not remove hardness minerals. If you have hard water issues, scale buildup on fixtures, appliances, or in your water heater, a water softener addresses that separate concern.
How long does installation take?
Most whole-house filtration installations are completed in two to four hours. Under-sink systems typically take one to two hours.
