NHSaves Weatherization Prequalifier.

NHSaves Home Energy Performance is a statewide weatherization program funded by New Hampshire's electric and natural gas utilities through NHSaves, including Eversource, Liberty, New Hampshire Electric Cooperative, and Unitil. The process starts with a professional energy audit completed by TurnCycle Solutions, an NHSaves Home Energy Performance contractor. Eligible projects can receive up to $6,000 in rebates on insulation, air sealing, and ventilation work, plus separate NHSaves equipment rebates on qualifying heat pumps, furnaces, boilers, and water heaters. 0% or 2% APR financing up to $15,000 may be available, depending on your utility and the type of financing.

The Home Heating Index measures how much heating energy your home uses per square foot per heating degree-day, expressed as BTU/sqft/HDD. NHSaves uses an HHI threshold of about 6 to flag a home as a strong candidate for the Home Energy Performance program. Older or under-insulated homes typically score higher than 6, which usually means weatherization will reduce both energy use and monthly bills. Our prequalifier calculates your HHI using the same constants the NHSaves audit tool uses, so the numbers reconcile across both calculators.

$100 for a professional audit. The audit is normally a $500 value and is often credited back if weatherization work proceeds. It includes a blower-door test (measures how leaky the house envelope is), infrared imaging (finds hidden insulation gaps), and a written report of recommended improvements. Income-eligible households may qualify for a no-cost assessment.

TurnCycle Solutions completes the professional energy audit and prepares the written recommendations. A.J. LeBlanc Heating handles the heating-equipment work within our scope and applies eligible point-of-sale rebates. We help customers understand the next steps for any other available incentives.

Home Energy Performance focuses on whole-home efficiency improvements. Qualifying heating, cooling, and water-heating upgrades may also be recommended. Separate equipment rebates can apply when the project meets their eligibility rules. We review the weatherization and equipment incentives separately so the estimate is clear.

Current NHSaves guidance publishes an enhanced Home Energy Performance offer for Eversource customers whose household income is below the listed limits. Eversource verifies the documentation and final eligibility. NHSaves also has a separate Home Energy Assistance path for income-eligible homeowners and renters through local Community Action Agencies. Other utility-specific pathways should be confirmed with the utility.

Weatherization and equipment incentives can be combined when the same project meets the rules for both programs. The utility confirms final eligibility, funding, and any required pre-approval.

Renters can participate, but the property owner has to approve the work because weatherization improves the building itself, not just the tenant's bill. Landlords can access the same program for their rental properties; incentives and financing terms vary by utility and property type. For larger multi-family buildings, separate NHSaves commercial weatherization programs may apply.

The prequalifier provides an early estimate using the home's conditioned square footage and recent heating-energy use. It does not approve a rebate or replace the participating utility's review. Final eligibility, audit requirements, and available incentives are confirmed through the current NHSaves program before work is scheduled.

The federal Section 25C Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit and Section 25D Residential Clean Energy Credit are not available for qualifying property placed in service after December 31, 2025. Current NHSaves utility rebates and New England Heat Pump Accelerator incentives may still apply, subject to program rules and funding.
