The HVAC system is one of the biggest comfort and efficiency decisions in a new home, and it has to be designed correctly from the start. A.J. LeBlanc Heating completes a Manual J load calculation for every new-construction heating and cooling system. The calculation estimates the home's heating loss and cooling gain, so we select equipment for the actual load rather than relying on square footage alone. We coordinate the ductwork and equipment with the builder, then complete the registers, thermostats, and final startup for single-family homes, additions, and accessory dwellings.

Heat Pumps, Ductless & Fresh-Air Ventilation
Many new homes are now built all-electric or with a mix of systems. A.J. LeBlanc Heating installs cold-climate heat pumps and ductless mini splits for additions, ADUs, and whole homes. New homes are often built with much lower air leakage than older construction. When the ventilation design calls for balanced mechanical ventilation, we can install and commission an HRV or ERV sized for the home. We also identify current NHSaves incentives that may apply to qualifying equipment.

Yes. A.J. LeBlanc Heating works with builders and general contractors on new construction HVAC. We coordinate on scheduling, phasing, and inspections so the heating, cooling, and ductwork stay on track with the rest of the build.
How do you size the system for a new home?
We complete a Manual J load calculation for every new-construction heating and cooling system. It estimates the home's heating loss and cooling gain from the building details, so we can select equipment for the actual load rather than a square-footage shortcut. Right-sizing supports comfort, efficiency, quieter operation, and longer cycles.
What heating and cooling options work for a new build?
We design the system around your home, budget, and efficiency goals. Options include a high-efficiency furnace with central air, a cold-climate heat pump for all-electric heating and cooling, ductless mini splits, or a boiler with hydronic heat. We walk you and your builder through the trade-offs and any NHSaves rebates that apply.
Do you handle ductwork and ventilation?
