Every year there seems to be another threat to our health that the media exploits. As most people are aware, the air in our homes sometimes is more contaminated than the outdoors. LeBlanc Heating has been investigating this issue for years. After researching many products, we have chosen Sanuvox air purifiers for several reasons. Using proprietary UV technology, the Sanuvox In-Duct Ultraviolet Air Sterilization System is designed to maximize exposure time between the air and the UV germicidal energy. The UV system has been proven to deliver the optimal UV germicidal dosage, penetrating the cell membrane, destroying the DNA structure of the virus.
In spring, many people fear the outside air, due to pollen and other seasonal allergy irritants. What many people do not realize is that indoor air pollutants may be even worse. They include pollen, molds, fungal spores, viruses, bacteria, smoke, gas combustion by-products, out-gassing from carpets, furniture, plywood, and drywall, cleaning supplies and other personal care items, pet dander, dust mites and their feces and body fragments, cockroach body parts, and more.
Seal air infiltration into the home
If your home is not sealed to today’s standards you could be spending 30% or more on your energy bill than necessary. Infiltration refers to airflow through gaps or cracks around windows, or in walls or flooring. Using caulk or other means to fill in the holes you can access will help to seal the building envelope so that less energy will be needed to maintain the temperature in your home. Having a home energy audit conducted will also give you more information about the most cost effective changes you can make to reduce costs.
LeBlanc Heating is proud to announce that it has become a Certified Nest Professional. Nest is the latest gadget to hit the HVAC market. What sets Nest apart from other thermostats? Well the Nest thermostat is self-learning which means it takes user error out of the programmable thermostat. Design look familiar? Nest was developed by the same team that created the iPod. In addition to being self-programming, Nest includes a command center which can be reached via computer or phone. The command center allows homeowners to adjust and view current temperatures. Spring is in the air, and a spring is in our step as we acknowledge the end of the cold, dark Winter months. It is time to get outside with family and friends and enjoy the outdoors as everything bursts back into life around us.
Unfortunately, Spring is also the worst time of year for your allergies. Running around in the sunshine is all well and good, but it sure can make you sniffle and sneeze!

Static or electrostatic charges occur every day. Almost everyone has been shocked by static charges and many have witnessed nature's lightning storms, which are magnificent displays of the power behind static electricity. So what is an electrostatic charge? An electrostatic charge is an electrical charge which is built up on an insulator or a material which is non-conductive.
Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) is a term which refers to the quality of air inside homes and office buildings as it relates to our health and comfort.
So you didn't think changing your air filter was important... Not only does a bad air filter result in poor air quality it can eventually cause restrictions to air flow. The filter below is covered in pet hair, human hair, dust and many other indoor contaminants. Air flow restrictions can result in poor efficiency and premature equipment failure. Changing your filter is a simple task and it could save you from costly service calls.
Our last blog post talked about air flow restrictions and the importance of changing your air filters. Ductwork debris can also cause air flow restrictions. LeBlanc technician Kyle D. discovered all these forgotten items while installing a furnace in Milford, NH 03055. A.J. LeBlanc Heating does not currently clean ductwork but we can certainly offer referrals to those in need of a good duct cleaning.
We are currently testing a Honeywell Lyric smart thermostat at our office in Bedford NH. In addition to the Honeywell Lyric we plan to test a few other brands in an effort to offer our customers the best smart thermostat solution. A.J. LeBlanc Heating is also a Nest Certified Installer, however we only recommend the Nest for basic HVAC system control.
